Grades and Policies

ATTENDANCE
This is a class that depends on your being there. Your participation, readings responses, and quizzes cannot be made up. Therefore, you must be in class (and attend your assigned outside meetings). You are allowed three absences. No excuses. No penalties. After three your grade will be dropped a letter per absence; you will be dropped from the course with a WF after seven absences. Excessive tardiness will also impact reading response averages and accumulation of absences.

GRADING/COMMENTS

Under normal course circumstances, and when applicable for the assignment, I strive to offer comments on rough drafts (in written, verbal, or video modes) within one week of submission, when possible. I strive to post grades and feedback on final drafts within two weeks of the final draft submission when possible. Late work accepted for documented absences is not subject to this policy, and will be graded as soon as possible before the end of the term.

FINAL GRADES will be based on the following  percentage scale:
A=90-100
B=80-89
C=70-79
D=60-69
F=GRADES BELOW 59

WRITING CENTER
The Writing Center located in Gamble Hall can be a good resource for revising your work if you would like a little extra help with your writing. It is a free service. Please consider taking advantage of it.
